Shared Phone Line

Broadband, just like standard dial-up access, involves your computer connecting to the Internet via a modem. It’s the technology behind the scenes that changes.

One big difference is that you can make telephone calls at the same time as using the Internet. You will never again miss a call because you’re on the web. If you have an extra telephone line installed specifically for Internet use, you may no longer need it.

One practical benefit is that you can talk to a customer or supplier on the phone while you both look at the same web pages. This is particularly advantageous if your products and services are richly supported on your website, because you can then lead customers to any information they might require.

A broadband connection also supports more than one computer, so you can connect several machines to the Internet through the same line.
